adultos
Objective: Determine the association between irritable bowel syndrome and migraine in adults. Material and methods: An analytical, cross-sectional study was carried out in which 124 adult patients were included, according to selection criteria which were divided according to the presence or not of irritable bowel syndrome and. migraine, the chi square was calculated and the statistician prevalence ratio. Results: The average age was significantly higher in the group of patients with irritable bowel syndrome (p<0.05); the frequency of migraine in patients with irritable bowel syndrome was 11/46 = 24%; the frequency of migraine in patients without irritable bowel syndrome was 5/78 = 6%; Irritable bowel syndrome is a factor associated with migraine with a prevalence ratio of 4.58, which was significant (p<0.05). Conclusion: There is an association between irritable bowel syndrome and migraine in adults
