The aim of this research is to propose a cycle lane design on Salaverry Avenue, Salaverry district, Trujillo, La Libertad. For this purpose, a traffic study was carried out using an observation guide and a soil mechanics study to determine the CBR on Salaverry Avenue. Subsequently, a topographic survey of Salaverry Avenue was developed using differential GPS. From this, a geometric and structural design of a cycle lane on Salaverry Avenue was established according to Technical Standard CE.030 Special and complementary works and Design Manual for Cycle Lane Infrastructures. Finally, the vertical and horizontal signage is proposed in order to evaluate the total cost of the proposal based on the proposed metering of the different items defined for the budget. The following results were obtained: The IMDA of non-motorized vehicles of 70 vehicles per day. The adjacent road is a second-class highway. The CBR used for the design was 10.20%. The topography is flat with a slope of less than 1%. The proposed cycle lane is 3.50 meters wide on both bidirectional cycle lanes. The minimum curve of 7.60 meters and a design speed of 30 km/h have been respected. The pavement structure layers of the cycle lane are 5 cm of surface course, 15 cm of base course and 15 cm of subbase course. The vertical signage consists of R – 42 cycle lane and 1 -8 cycle lane. The study of the cycle lane estimated an expense of S/. 8,133,305.81. In conclusion, the design proposal for the cycle lane on Salaverry Avenue, Salaverry district, Trujillo, La Libertad, complies with the guidelines of the Implementation Guide for Sustainable Non-Motorized Transportation and the CE standard. 30 Special and Complementary Works of the National Building Regulations.
