To establish the association between diseases such as anemia, pneumonia, diarrhea and parasitosis in the nutritional status of pediatric patients under 5 years of age hospitalized at Hospital II Santa Rosa 2019-2020. METHODOLOGY: Analytical, retrospective, cross-sectional and correlational study. A simple random sample of 107 patients hospitalized in the pediatric service for less than 5 years at Hospital II Santa Rosa 2019-2020 who met the inclusion criteria was collected. From the medical records of Hospital II Santa Rosa, the pertinent data were used. The model variables were selected through the statistical method. A p value less than 0.05 was considered significant for all analyses. RESULTS: 50.41% were female and in terms of age an average of 2.35 was recorded; It was detected that there are 1.91 children per family and in 36.59% (45 records) it was the third child in the family. 52.03% presented some type of malnutrition and only in 59 records were they within the eutrophic range and there is an association for malnutrition processes with the fact of presenting pathologies such as Anemia (p:0.003; Rpa:4.14 and IC:2.43-6.78), Pneumonia (p:0.04; Rpa:3.78 and IC:1.98-5.23) and Parasitosis (p:0.04 Rpa:2.12 and IC:1.14-4.32). CONCLUSION: There is an association between malnutrition and the fact of presenting pathologies such as Anemia (p:0.003; Rpa:4.14 and IC:2.43-6.78), Pneumonia (p:0.04; Rpa:3.78 and IC:1.98-5.23) and Parasitosis (p: 0.04 Rpa:2.12 and IC:1.14-4.32)
