The objective of this investigation was to evaluate the effect of different doses of hydrogen cyanamide on the yield and quality of blueberries, Vaccinium corymbosum cv. Ventura, using a total of 2656 plants, under field conditions in the Fundo Pur Pur, Chavimochic Project, Virú, La Libertad. Apical dominance was considered as a varietal characteristic of this cultivar, since it causes greater growth of the apex of the plant and inhibition of the growth of lateral branches. For this reason, chemical pruning of the tips with an application of hydrogenated cyanamide was proposed to break the apical dominance, using the experimental design of randomized blocks, with four treatments and four repetitions. These treatments were: a manual pruning of tips as the control group (C) referred to as T1, and doses of 2.5%, 5.0%, 7.5% of commercial Hydrogen cyanamide (NEXUS) as treatments for T2, T3 and T4, respectively, obtaining that T3 (5.0%) produced the highest yield (24.4 t/h), followed by the Control group with 21.4 t/ha; T2 (2.5%), with 15.19 t/ha and the one with the lowest yield, T4 (7.5%) with 13.9 t/ha. The evaluation of results to verify the statistical differences, was carried out using the analysis of variance (ANVA), and Tukey tests in order to compare the medians with a probability of 0.05%. The Control group and T3 presented the best quality parameters in the study carried out. In conclusion that among the three doses of cyanamide the best dose was 5.0%. In addition, it serves as the best alternative to manual pruning of the tips, obtaining the best results in biometric measures, yield and post-harvest quality evaluations of Vaccinium corymbosum cv.
