To analyze the factors associated with the delay in surgical care in postoperative patients with acute appendicitis at Hospital II - 1 Moyobamba in the period from March 2021 to June 2021. Materials and methods: non-experimental, observational, cross-sectional, relational type research. The sample was represented by all postoperative patients in the surgical center of Hospital II - 1 Moyobamba in the period from March 1, 2021 to June 1, 2021. The IBM SPSS Statistics 26 software was used for data processing. the association between the variables was used the Criteria Independence test, the test will be significant if the p value <α = 0.05. Results: 67.74% (n = 21) of patients were men and 32.26% (n = 10) were women. The mean age was 33.77 ± 14.1 years old. 100% (2) of patients with a delay in surgical care were self-medicated, had distance of origin greater than 6 hours, atypical presentation of the clinical picture, came from La Calzada and Naranjos, had a time interval onset of symptoms and intervention surgery or symptomatic time greater than 73 hours and a surgical gap less than 6 hours or availability of PCOS. Likewise, of 100% (2) of patients with a delay in surgical care, 50% (n = 1) had a primary education level and 50% (n = 1) had higher, as did 50% (n = 1) had the custom of praying and the other 50% (n = 1) in addition to praying used a Brew and other types of customs and traditions. Conclusion: Only the origin, the atypical presentation of the clinical picture, the symptomatic time and the time interval between the onset of symptoms and the surgical intervention are factors associated with the delay in surgical care in postoperative patients of acute appendicitis in Hospital II - 1 Moyobamba in the period from March 2021 to June 2021
