The aim of the study was to compare in vitro the adhesion strength of three resins: two photocurable resins with their adhesion system and another without adhesion system; the three used in the direct cementation of metal brackets. A comparative and experimental study was carried out. The sample consisted of 39 human premolar teeth; to these samples the metal brackets were cemented with the three resins; To two groups of premolars, the metal brackets were cemented with acid etching, plus an adhesive system and the photocurable resins: Transbond XT and Filmagic respectively, and the third group of premolars were cemented but directly, that is, after acid etched, no adhesive system was used, only the photocurable Ortocem resin. A shearing force occlusally applied to the tooth was applied; from top to bottom and directly on the bracket support surface at a speed of 0.5 mm / min. The means were compared by analysis of variance and multivariate regression to evaluate compounds and methods of surface treatment. The results that were found after conducting this experimental investigation, showed that there is a statistically significant difference between the resin Transbond XT, Filmagic and Ortocem, the latter and the first being the most resistant compared to the second (Filmagic), then comparing XT resin and Ortocem resin gave equal adhesive strength results and in some samples Ortocem resin was slightly stronger than XT resin, but with the difference that Ortocem resin does NOT have an adhesive system for cementing brackets. The average of the Transbond XT resin was 6.7 Mpa with a standard deviation of 0.35, while the Ortocem resin was 6.8 Mpa with a standard deviation of 0.34; and finally the Filmagic resin obtained the lowest adhesive strength with 5.1 Mpa with a standard deviation of 0.31 standard deviation. It is concluded that the Transbond XT and Ortocem photocuring resin has greater adhesion strength than the Filmagic resin, and between the Ortocem and XT resin they have equal strength values and in some cases the Ortocem resin is slightly stronger than the standard goal resin called Transbond XT for the cementation of brackets.
