In this thesis called ““Reducción de costos aplicando un modelo de gestión para la conservación vial del camino vecinal Cerro Blanco – Poroto, la Libertad““ the application of regulations of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) is taken as a technical basis and in which The research process first raised the formulation of the problem of how to manage road conservation, seeking to reduce road maintenance costs of the neighborhood road under study. Then, as part of the methodology to develop this research, basic studies were carried out, including topographic survey, traffic study, road inventory, and application of the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) methodology. After processing the data obtained from the basic studies, as a result of the topographic study it is obtained that the local road has a flat orography and a length of Km 15 + 600, from the traffic study we obtain an IMDA of 120 veh/day, for the road inventory it is verified that the neighborhood road has structures such as sewers, speed bumps, bridge and signage, as a result of the application of the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) methodology, the numerical value of the PCI for rigid pavement of 93.79 is obtained, cataloged as excellent and 91.79 for flexible pavement classified as very good. Finally, as part of the road management model, activities are determined for periodic and/or routine maintenance to preserve the useful life of the pavement, reduce costs and guarantee adequate transitability, all this to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants and allowing the development of peoples.
