prematuro
Objective: Determine if SARS-CoV-2 infection is a risk factor for premature birth. Material and methods: An analytical, observational, retrospective cohort study was carried out in which 156 pregnant women were included, according to selection criteria which were divided into 2 groups: with and without SARS-CoV 2 infection, the chi square and the relative risk statistic. Results: The average hospital stay and the frequency of obesity were significantly higher in the group of pregnant women with SARS-CoV-2 infection (p<0.05), the proportion of premature birth in pregnant women with positive SARS-CoV-2 was 79%; the proportion of premature birth in pregnant women with negative SARS-CoV-2 was 14%; SARS-CoV-2 infection as a risk factor for premature birth with a relative risk of 5.46 which was significant (p<0.05). Conclusion: SARS-CoV-2 infection is a risk factor for premature birth
