The purpose of this research project was to determine if low weight, diabetes mellitus, hypoalbuminemia and CRP greater than 5mg/dl were factors associated with longer hospital stay in severely burned patients, adults over 18 years of age and under 65 years of age. Hospital Santa Rosa II-2 Piura. MATERIAL AND METHODS: An analytical, applied, retrospective case-control study was carried out, in which the clinical records of 146 cases of severe burns with low weight, diabetes mellitus, hypoalbuminemia and altered c-reactive protein (CRP) were evaluated, which were compared with the corresponding controls, and it was established whether these clinical and laboratory factors are associated with the longer hospital stay of major burns at the Santa Rosa II-Piura Hospital during the periods January 2016 to December 2022. For which data collection was carried out from the clinical records that were included in this research work, with data and statistical analysis, for which the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) program, version 23, was used for the subsequent results obtained RESULTS: A statistically significant relationship was found between low weight, hypoalbuminemia, altered CRP and diabetes mellitus and longer hospital stay, with OR of 108.43 (95% CI 45.37-259.16), 76.17 (95% CI 18.51- 313.49), 23.19 (95% CI 8.35-64.41) and 112.42 (95% CI 27.31-462.85) correspondingly. 95.9% of the cases and 17.7% of the controls had low weight, 98.6% of the cases and 48.6% of the controls had hypoalbuminemia, 97.3% of the cases and 60.5% of the controls had altered CRP and 98.6% of the cases and 39% of controls had diabetes mellitus. The analysis with multiple logistic regression found OR values significantly greater than 1 and 95% confidence intervals that both lower and upper limits greater than 1 are therefore risk factors for prolonged hospital stay. The intervening variables with a significant statistical relationship were the patient's age, the causative agent, previous medical condition, and direct aggression. CONCLUSION: Low weight, hypoalbuminemia, high CRP and Diabtes Mellitus are factors associated with prolonged hospital stay
