The objective of this study was to identify the sociocultural factors that influence the level of knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) in the district of Pueblo Nuevo. In order to establish a relationship between sociocultural factors in mothers and the level of knowledge of EBF. Materials and methods: This is an observational, analytical, cross-sectional cohort study, considering 300 mothers between 15 and 55 years of age, who meet the established inclusion criteria. As a statistical test, chi-square (p'0.05) was used for significance and the Tau Goodman and Kruskal test was used to establish the relationship between sociocultural factors and the level of knowledge of exclusive breastfeeding. Results: One of the notorious sociocultural factors is the origin of the mothers who reside in the district of Pueblo Nuevo with 46.3% coming from the highlands, where the level of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding in the mothers of the district of Pueblo Nuevo is low with 70.7% and only 29.3% with a high level. On the other hand, there is relationship between sociocultural factors and the level of knowledge in exclusive breastfeeding in the district of Pueblo Nuevo, according to Tau Goodman and Kruskal tests all sociocultural factors of study influence Level of knowledge of EBF. Conclusions: In the population of the district of pueblo nuevo, there is a certain degree of ignorance about EBF in 70.7%, being influenced by sociocultural factors
