The main objective of this research is to determine the effect of the change of dimensions of the braces on the resistance for adobe-based walls under load perpendicular to its plane, as well as to increase its stability, rigidity, against various factors such as the efforts of I turn, the detachment of the adobe and the failure mode of the walls. To analyze our research eight models of walls were made with their respective braces of different dimensions, in which we proposed 4 different designs of brace on the walls, but maintaining their area in order to evaluate the greater resistance and stability of these. They were made with adobe bricks and braces of the same material, after the construction of the walls we let them perform their drying process so that after the tests are executed by perpendicular load induced by their own weight to each earth wall for the evaluation of displacement and structural behavior, in order to have 4 cases with their respective replicas, in order to obtain an appropriate average. Finally, the 4 prototypes of walls were tested in a metal portico in which a key was placed to execute the process and at the same time a conveyor was placed on a level floor to obtain the angle of failure of the walls and thus be able to simulate the load perpendicular to its plane, the results obtained from each wall were processed in graphic form and by calculations the weight of the elements was obtained, the horizontal force, the moment of failure and the failure effort were analyzed. In this way it was possible to obtain as one of the conclusions is that when performing the test of our walls at perpendicular load we found that the predominant failure mode of these walls is by turning, since in the traction face the tensile stress exceeds the adhesion Between the base and the material, there is also no failure due to crushing, failure of the unit, or cracking. It should also be mentioned that in addition to this test, control tests were carried out to determine the characteristics of the materials used: 6 units of compression adobe were tested, 6 stacks of 4 compression courses and 6 walls of approximately 80x80cm diagonal compression (f 'b) required by the E.080 Design and Construction standard with reinforced earth, which, when carrying out the control tests, obtained data that comply with the provisions of the E.080 standard, whose data were as follows; for the resistance of the compressed earth unit we obtained a fb = 11.40 kgf / cm 2 , resistance of the compressed piles fm = 6.20 kg / cm2, resistance of the murete to diagonal compression vm = 0.79 kgf / cm , concluding that the material Employee meets quality standards.
