SARS-CoV-2 infection has spread worldwide, affecting people of all ages. The entire medical community in it’s day-to-day work admits and treats patients with different clinical characteristics, and one of them is seen in the child population. A hyperinflammatory response has been described in children with COVID-19, with clinical manifestations similar to Kawasaki Disease, and the incidence of these cases has increased in the COVID-19 setting, so this disease should be suspected in children with prolonged fever. This review attempts to address the clinical presentation of pediatric COVID-19 and the possible association with a syndrome similar to Kawasaki disease, which has been termed Pediatric Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome, and we consider it essential to have medical expertise in these cases for early detection.
