The present research arose from the need to grow and advance in the development of science, technology and innovation through the creation project of the Institute of Technology, Structures and Construction for the Sustainable Habitat of UPAO (ITECHS-UPAO). For this, the CANVAS model was used, which is a strategic planning tool invented by Osterwalder and published in 2012. The CANVAS model proposes the development and application of 9 components or areas of knowledge to the ITECHS-UPAO project. The study included the evaluation, as background, of the Architecture Structures Laboratory (LABE-ARQ) according to the CANVAS model, identifying the areas that had not been considered or evidenced insufficient. Next, the initial project to create the ITECHS-UPAO from the perspective of the Organizational Evaluation was studied, to then propose improvements in the different components resulting in a new integrated proposal according to the CANVAS model. The information on the activities and projects developed during the last 23 years in the Architecture Structures Laboratory of UPAO that included pre and postgraduate was compiled. As a valid and updated reference, the Institute of Computational Design and Construction of Stuttgart in Germany was visited in October 2018, one of the most advanced in the world, to appreciate in situ its organization, its research projects, technology and innovation, and to carry out an academic interview in english of high face-to-face and relational value. The following results were obtained: the nine components of the CANVAS model analyzed in the previous experience of the LABE-ARQ and its subsequent referencing with the ICD of Stuttgart and the reference cases have been able to incorporate improvements for the ITECHS-UPAO project, especially in the value proposition, key activities, customer relationships and communication channels.
