Objective: To determine the main complications due to dengue during pregnancy in patients of the gynecology and obstetrics care service of the Hospital Santa Rosa, Piura in the period 2016 - 2018. Material and methods: Observational, retrospective, cross-sectional and descriptive study based on clinical histories of pregnant women hospitalized in the service of Obstetrics and gynecology during the period 2016 - 2018 that presented the diagnosis of dengue. Results: Pregnant women with dengue confirmed in the Santa Rosa hospital, between years 2016 to 2018, were 103. 44% became ill with dengue in the third trimester and 37% in the second trimester of pregnancy. The months in which most cases of dengue were registered were April and May. The majority of cases (78.6%) were confirmed with the NS-1 test. The majority of the pregnant women affected with dengue was the district of October 26th. 58% of the pregnant women were diagnosed as dengue without warning signs, 35.9% as dengue with warning signs and 5.8% as severe dengue. The most frequent serotypes of dengue were: DENV – 2 and DENV – 3. Obstetric complications recorded include: Threatened abortion, incomplete abortion, preterm delivery, premature rupture of membranes, oligohydramnios, fetal death and hypovolemic shock. The hematological alterations included: Leucopenia, thrombocytopenia and anemia. Four patients were subject to intensive care. No deaths were recorded in our series. Conclusions: Dengue in pregnant women generates obstetric, hematological and hemodynamic complications, which put the mother and the fetus particularly at risk.
