Objective: To establish if the SVI has an effect on the quality of life related to vision in the twelfth cycle students of Human Medicine of the UPAO during the period 2021 - 1. Material and methods: This research conforms to a type of observational, cross-sectional and analytical study, in which 153 students of the twelfth cycle of Human Medicine of the UPAO were included in the period 2021 - 1. The data were processed using dodo the IBM SPSS Statistics 26 software and the results obtained are presented in graphs and tables with the Excel Windows 10 program. Results: 83% of the participants have SVI, of these, 5.5% have poor vision-related quality of life, 90.6% regular, and only 3.9% good. Of the total number of students who do not have SVI, 100% have a regular vision-related quality of life. When comparing vision-related quality of life between those with SVI and those without, this comparison is not significant (p>0.05). In addition, SVI (p>0.05) is not related to or has an effect on vision-related quality of life, and the intervening factors do not have a significant effect on it either (p>0.05). Conclusions: The SVI has no significant effect on vision-related quality of life in students of the twelfth cycle of Human Medicine at UPAO during the period 2021-1
