Abstract: La presente investigación tuvo como finalidad diseñar la estructura del
pavimento para las vías del Centro Poblado San Carlos, para lo cual se planteó
objetivos como estudio de tráfico de la zona, evaluación superficial del pavimento
a través del método PCI, estudio de mecánica de suelos, diseño de pavimento
flexible, rígido y articulado, presupuesto de cada pavimento y la elección del
pavimento más idóneo acorde a lo requerido, obteniendo que el IMDA es de
125.07, el PCI oscila entre zonas categorizadas de fallado, malo y muy malo en
su mayoría, el suelo está compuesto por arena limosa y grava limosa; de tal forma
también se calculó los espesores de capas para cada tipo de pavimento y su
respectivo costo, siendo el más bajo el pavimento flexible y más elevado el rígido.
Luego de obtener todas las especificaciones necesarias se llegó a la conclusión
que el pavimento más idóneo para la zona de estudio fue el flexible por su costo
reducido y la condición favorable que presenta la subrasante.
The purpose of this research was to design the pavement structure for the roads of the Centro Poblado San Carlos, for which objectives such as traffic study of the area, surface evaluation of the pavement through the PCI method, study of soil mechanics, design of flexible, rigid and articulated pavement, budget for each pavement and the choice of the most suitable pavement according to the requirements, obtaining that the IMDA is 125. 07, the PCI oscillates between zones categorized as failed, bad and very bad in its majority, the soil is composed of silty sand and silty gravel; in such a way the thickness of layers for each type of pavement and its respective cost were also calculated, being the lowest the flexible pavement and the highest the rigid one. After obtaining all the necessary specifications, it was concluded that the most suitable pavement for the study area was the flexible pavement due to its reduced cost and the favorable condition of the subgrade
