To determine if Prematurity is a risk factor for Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis in patients treated at the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital in the period 2005 - 2019. RESULTS: In this thesis, it was observed that 40% of the total patients with hypertrophic pyloric stenosis reported prematurity, while of the total number of patients without hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, 15.5% reported prematurity, which indicates that there is a higher proportion of prematurity in cases versus controls; the result of this ratio gave us an OR= 3.64 (p<0.01), obtaining that patients with the presence of prematurity have 3.64 times the risk of suffering hypertrophic stenosis of the pylorus compared to patients without prematurity, being statistically significant, that is, the Prematurity is a risk factor for hypertrophic pyloric stenosis in patients
