To determine if there is an association between post-traumatic stress and resilience in Trujillo firefighters during the Covid-19 pandemic. Material and methods: An analytical, cross-sectional study was carried out in 137 members of eight Companies during the Fire Department of the province of Trujillo, who attended the COVID-19 pandemic, selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. They were divided by presence or absence of post-traumatic stress. Informed consent was provided with the data collection form, the PTSD survey adapted from the DSM-V and the Wagnild and Young Resilience Scale were applied. The Epidat 4.2 epidemiological and statistical analysis program was obtained, to determine the association between post traumatic stress and resilience, the Pearson Chi Square test was obtained. Results: No significant differences were observed regarding the variables age, gender, fire company, health personnel, and length of service between firefighters with or without post-traumatic stress (p>0.05). The percentage of post-traumatic stress in members of the General Fire Department of the province of Trujillo was 24.8%; the levels of resilience were: no resilience (14.6%), moderate resilience (43.8%) and high resilience (41.6%); the total percentage of resilience was 85.4%. Conclusion: There is an association between post-traumatic stress and resilience in members of the General Fire Department of the province of Trujillo during the Covid-19 pandemic (p<0.05).
