To determine the factors associated with the attitude, knowledge, and acceptance of the surgical safety checklist among surgical team members during the period from July to September the 2023. Methods: A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted in two public hospitals in Trujillo. The target population included all members of the surgical team, and convenience sampling was utilized. A questionnaire was administered, which included questions regarding about attitude, knowledge, and acceptance of the surgical safety checklist. Statistical analyses, including Chi-Square tests and Student's t-tests, were performed. Results: The study included 203 healthcare professionals working in operating rooms. It was found that 22.66% had a positive attitude toward the checklist, 74.88% had good knowledge, and 88.67% exhibited good acceptance. Significant associated factors were identified, such as age, years of professional experience, and years of working in the operating room, which were correlated with to a positive attitude towards the checklist. Conclusions: This study demonstrated the importance of assessing the attitude, knowledge, and acceptance of the surgical safety checklist among the surgical team. Individual factors, such as age and experience, and organizational factors, such as training and institutional culture, play a crucial role in the perception and implementation of the checklist.
