The present investigation, carried out in the sector Las Lomas 1, district of Huanchaco, Trujillo, La Libertad, has as main objective to improve the vehicular trafficability in the area, most of which are buses and automobiles, designing the pavement structure of the roads. This project consists of the structural design of the flexible, rigid and articulated pavements implementing the AASHTO 93 methodology and under the CE.010 Urban Pavements regulations. A traffic study was carried out in order to calculate the vehicular loads that the pavement has to support, determining the design ESAL for each type of pavement, which was 736,161.22 for flexible and articulated pavement, and 842,077.70 for rigid pavement. The soil mechanics study carried out allowed us to know the physical-mechanical characteristics of the soil in the area, predominantly a soil composed of poorly graded sand (SP) and obtaining the necessary data for the design, which was the CBR with a value of 15.63%, which is considered a good subgrade. Finally, the results obtained from the traffic and soil studies are presented, in addition to all the parameters taken into account for the pavement design. These values were used to determine the layer thicknesses for each type of pavement, unit cost analysis, budgets and a technical-economic comparison in order to choose the most suitable type of pavement, and to prepare the required plans
