The objective of the study was to establish the relationship that exists between parenting styles and school violence in high school students of a National Educational Institution of Trujillo, therefore, its methodology was based on a quantitative cross sectional approach following the design guidelines. non-experimental, managing to apply the questionnaire as an instrument to a sample of 164 students who were in the third grade of secondary school, whose findings highlight the predominance of a low level of school violence in 61.60% and a medium level in 31.10% due to the reduced number of insults, arguments, threats, blows or offenses between classmates, likewise, a medium level was identified in the different parenting styles, in addition, a positive association of authoritarian and indulgent family education with the level of violence of the students to be reported was determined. a Spearman's Rho of 0.195 and 0.427 together with a p-value lower than 5% respectively, of Similarly, a negative relationship was established between school violence and the dimensions of democratic and overprotective parenting by registering a Spearman's Rho equal to -0.565 and -0.257 respectively with a critical level of less than 5%. In conclusion, the parenting styles imparted to students are associated to the manifestation of violent behaviors or prosocial acts among peers.
