Resumen: Determinar si las dosis altas de vitamina D reducen la mortalidad en
pacientes con COVID-19.
Materiales y métodos: Se elaboro una revisión sistemática de ensayos clínicos
aleatorizados, que cumplieron con los criterios de selección, recabados de 5 bases
de datos. Se analizo la asociación entre dosis altas de vitamina D y la mortalidad en
pacientes COVID-19.
Resultados: 617 artículos fueron identificados, 366 artículos fueron revisados en
titulo y resumen. 301 artículos fueron los seleccionados tras la gestión de
duplicados. Se excluyeron 279 en gestión de selección, se escogieron 22 artículos,
que fueron evaluados en base a criterios de elegibilidad. Fueron 14 los artículos
excluidos, 2 por diseño de estudio, 2 por población de estudio y 10 por desenlace
del estudio. Finalmente 8 artículos fueron seleccionados para revisión sistemática y
metaanálisis. El riesgo de mortalidad en pacientes que recibieron altas dosis 0.96 IC
(0.58 – 1.50); evidenciándose que no existe diferencias significativas (p: 0.22) en el
riesgo de mortalidad en ambos grupos. Además, el riesgo de ingreso a UCI en
pacientes que recibieron altas dosis de vitamina D fue 0.89 IC (0.68 – 1.18);
evidenciándose que no existe diferencias significativas (p: 0.377) en el riesgo de
ambos grupos. No se realizó metaanálisis para la estancia hospitalaria dado que no
se contaban con datos útiles para su realización.
Conclusiones: Los resultados del metaanálisis, evidencian que no existe asociación
significativa entre las intervenciones con altas dosis de vitamina D y el riesgo de
mortalidad, ingreso a UCI o estancia hospitalaria en pacientes COVID-19
