This thesis was born with the purpose of proposing an alternative solution to the current inefficient situation in which the current wastewater treatment plant is located in the town of Huanchaco. The project is called ““Proposal for a wastewater treatment plant through anaerobic lagoons in the Centro Poblado Cerrito la Virgen - Huanchaco district 2021““. The town of Huanchaco, one of the main tourist centers in the province of Trujillo, has a deficient system for the treatment of wastewater due to the fact that the physical chemical property of the influent water does not comply with the maximum permissible limits for its reuse. The main objective was to propose a treatment system for anaerobic lagoons and propose a third treatment, a complete system was carried out including design of the entrance channel, a grit trap, manual cleaning grates, Parshall channel for flow measurement, Primary treatment by Imhof tank, secondary treatment by anaerobic lagoon by the Marais method and tertiary treatment by polishing or maturation lagoons. This proposal manages to reduce the pollutant load in the tributary and to be able to comply with the maximum permissible limits established in SUPREME DECREE N°. 003-2010-MINAM. It is recommended to isolate the soil by means of a compacted acilla lining or by means of geo-mesh, because according to the soil study we have the presence of 90% of sand.
