The present work presents a comparative analysis of the performance of the horizontal and vertical polarizations in the conformation of the 2300 MHz uplink signal, obtained through simulations of a cellular base station in Huacapongo Town, Province of Virú, Department of La Libertad. To obtain the estimation of the uplink signal in horizontal and vertical polarization, a drive test route made up of 70 points was considered, simulating the reception of the uplink signal at 4 cellular base station locations, with 4 different heights of the EBC receiving antenna. The uplink signal resulting from the best horizontal/vertical components was compared with the uplink signal of each individual polarization under correlation criteria and contribution of H/V components. The results obtained by correlation criteria favored horizontal polarization in 83% of the evaluated scenarios, and vertical polarization in 17% with very tight differences. The results obtained by component contribution criterion favored horizontal polarization in all the evaluated scenarios.
