To demonstrate the association between the intake of foods rich in histamine and migraine in medical students at Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego Material and Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out in 188 students from the first to the third year of studies at the professional school of human medicine, who filled out a survey prepared based on the CODEX ALIMENTARIUS, of the United Nations Organization for Agriculture and Food/World Health Organization, and the Migraine Screen Questionnaire (MS-Q), selected by non probabilistic sampling, from November to December 2019. The Chi Square test and the Odss Ratio were used in the statistical analysis. Results: 68.5% of medical students with migraine had eaten histamine-rich foods, an association was found between these variables with an Odds Ratio of 3.65 which was significant (p = 0.000019) with 95% CI (1.99-6.68), X2: 18.242. The percentage of migraine was 65.2%, being significantly higher in the first academic year (p = 0.000). The average age was 19.7 years (p = 0.005) and the onset time of headache after the ingestion of foods rich in histamine was 5.1 hours, which were significantly shorter in students with migraine ( p <0.05). Conclusions: The intake of foods rich in histamine is a factor associated with migraine in medical students, with a higher prevalence in the first academic year.
