The objective of this research was to evaluate the level of susceptibility of natural populations of Aedes aegypti to the pyrethroid insecticide deltamethrin and the organophosphate temephos, and to identify the biochemical mechanisms associated with resistance in these populations, which were collected from Bellavista, Buenos Aires, El Porvenir. and Laredo, four of the main areas of Trujillo where this vector is a potential public health problem. In each locality, a non-probabilistic convenience sampling was carried out, containers capable of containing water were examined, and all the lavas and pupae macroscopically related to this species were collected. F1 and F2 generations were bred under controlled conditions and with the F2 generation bioassays were carried out with impregnated papers (WHO methodology) and susceptibility was determined by means of the impregnated bottle method (proposed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). of diseases or CDC), for which a control group (absolute ethanol) and two problem groups (deltamethrin and temephos) were established, in addition a reference strain (Rockefeller) was used, with five repetitions of 25 individuals each. The percentage of mortality of the adult individuals of each locality was evaluated and colorimetric biochemical tests were carried out to detect the resistance mechanism (F1) with the affinity to specific reactive enzymes such as alpha (α) and beta (β) esterases, GST (glutathione -S-transferases) and AChE (acetylcholinesterase).
