To determine the in vitro antimicrobial activity of hydroalcoholic extracts of aguaymanto fruits (Physalis peruviana L.) and eucalyptus leaves (Eucalyptus globulus Labill) against Staphylococcus aureus. Material and methods: The study was comparative and experimental; analyzing a strain of Staphylococcus aureus with which 15 repetitions were performed, for each concentration for each hydroalcoholic extract plus a positive control with vancomycin. With a millimeter ruler, the inhibition halo generated around the disk impregnated with the extract in the Petri dishes was measured with the Staphylococcus aureus strain. The data collected was processed in the SPSS Statistics 22 program and the ANOVA tests and the Duncan multiple comparisons test were used for statistical analysis. Results: There was no difference between the results in the 3 concentrations of the extract of Physalis peruviana L. and did not present a significant antimicrobial activity compared to the control. Regarding the hydroalcoholic extract of Eucalyptus globulus Labill, according to the Duncan test, its antimicrobial activity at a concentration of 100% (16.00mm) was significant (p <0.001) compared to the effect produced by vancomycin (16.30mm) against Staphylococcus aureus. Conclusion: The hydroalcoholic extract of eucalyptus at a concentration of 100% was the one with the highest antimicrobial activity against S. aureus.
