The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between dental malocclusion and the facial golden ratio in students from 19 to 24 years of age at the Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego- Trujillo, 2018. The prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive and observational study included a total of 100 students, including 50 female subjects and 50 male subjects between 19 and 24 years of age. Dental malocclusion was evaluated with the Dental Aesthetic Index (DAI) which consists of ten intraoral features and multiplied by a regression coefficient. The facial golden ratio was evaluated with frontal photographs that were analyzed 6 vertical measurements and 2 frontal transverse measurements proposed by Ricketts. For the statistical analysis the Spearman correlation coefficient was used, considering a level of significance of 5%. The results obtained showed no relationship between dental malocclusion and the facial golden ratio in students from 19 to 24 years of age at the Antenor Orrego- Trujillo Private University, 2018 (p> 0.05). Subjects with a normal occlusion will not always be provided, nor will subjects with a very severe dental malocclusion not be provided, and also in the different degrees of Dental Malocclusion, the Facial Golden Ratio has not been fulfilled and this has not varied according to the severity of Dental Malocclusion.
