To determine the relationship between gingival hyperplasia andantihy pertensive drugs in patients attending the Establecimiento Salud de Florencia de Mora. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study was observational, descriptive and cross- sectional. A total of 132 patients aged 50 to 90 years belonging to the program of patients with hypertension were evaluated, with a kappa value of 0.99.. A data collection form was applied to the patients evaluated, where the type of antihypertensive drug they were taking and the different degrees of gingival hyperplasia, according to Carranza's classification, were recorded. For the analysis of the results a Chi-square test was used, estimating a significance level of 5%. RESULTS: There is a relationship between gingival hyperplasia and calcium antagonist antihypertensive drugs (P=0.000). Regarding the prevalence of this pathology it was obtained that 81% did not present and 19% did present gingival hyperplasia, in such a way it was identified that the most consumed drugs are angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors and angiotensin II receptor antagonists. CONCLUSION: Calcium antagonist-type antihypertensive drugs are associated with the development of gingival hyperplasia
