Uso de las TICS y su relación con el desarrollo de las competencias digitales en los alumnos del Instituto San Luis, Trujillo 2018

Abstract

El estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el uso de las TICs y el desarrollo de las competencias digitales en los alumnos del Instituto San Luis, Trujillo 2018. Para ello se utilizó una investigación de tipo cuantitativa no experimental, cuyo diseño fue el correlacional. Se utilizó como población a 435 alumnos del Instituto San Luis de la ciudad de Trujillo, se los cuales se seleccionaron a 265 alumnos para conformar la muestra a través de un muestreo aleatorio simple estratificado. El instrumento para medir el uso de las tecnologías de información fue una prueba objetiva, mientras que para medir las competencias digitales se utilizó el cuestionario. Los resultados mostraron que un nivel regular uso de las TIC’s en un 56%, así como en sus dimensiones tecnológica en un 64% e informacional en un 77%, además un buen uso de las TIC’s en su dimensión comunicativa en un 40% de los alumnos, mientras que se identificó un nivel regular en el desarrollo de competencias digitales según el 64%, así como en sus dimensiones instrumental en un 65%, generación de información en un 66% y generación de contenido multimedia y trabajo colaborativo en un 52% de los alumnos. Finalmente se concluyó que existe una evidencia estadísticamente significativa (p<.05) de una correlación directa y grande entre el Uso de las TIC’s con el Desarrollo de las Competencias Digitales (rs=.51) de los alumnos del Instituto San Luis de Trujillo.

The objective of the study was to determine the relationship between the use of ICTs and the development of the digital skills in the students of the San Luis Institute, Trujillo 2018. For this purpose, a non-experimental quantitative type of research was used, the design of which was correlational. A population of 435 students from the San Luis Institute in the city of Trujillo was used, and 265 students were selected to form the sample through stratified simple random sampling. The instrument to measure the use of information technologies was an objective test, while the questionnaire was used to measure digital skills. The results showed that a regular use of ICTs by 56%, as well as its technological dimensions by 64% and informational by 77%, plus a good use of ICT in its communicative dimension in 40% of students, while a regular level was identified in the development of digital competences according to 64%, as well as in its instrumental dimensions in 65%, generation of information in 66% and generation of multimedia content and collaborative work in 52% of the students. Finally, it was concluded that there is statistically significant evidence (p <.05) of a direct and large correlation between the use of ICTs with the Development of Digital Competences (rs = .51) of the students of the San Luis de Trujillo Institute.
