Insatisfacción con la imagen corporal y ansiedad social en estudiantes de una universidad privada de Trujillo

Abstract

La presente investigación ha tenido como objetivo principal, el determinar la relación entre la Insatisfacción con la Imagen Corporal y Ansiedad Social en estudiantes de una universidad privada de Trujillo, contando con una muestra de 118 alumnos de ambos sexos, en una muestra descriptiva correlacional. Las herramientas que se emplearon fueron Evaluación de la Insatisfacción con la Imagen Corporal (IMAGEN) y La Escala de Ansiedad Social de Liebowitz (LSAS). En la investigación evidencia el estudio estadístico de correlación de Spearman hallando relación altamente significativa entre los indicadores de Insatisfacción con la Imagen Corporal y Ansiedad Social en estudiantes, así como la relación entre componente insatisfacción cognitivo emocional y dimensiones temor o ansiedad ante determinadas situaciones y evitación ante situaciones sociales, de igual manera en componente insatisfacción perceptiva, insatisfacción comportamental y dimensión evitación ante situaciones sociales

The principal objective of this research has been to determine the relationship between Dissatisfaction with Body Image and Social Anxiety in students of a private university in Trujillo, with a sample of 118 students of both sexes, in a correlational descriptive sample. The tools used were the Body Image Dissatisfaction Assessment (IMAGEN) and the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale (LSAS). The research shows the statistical study of Spearman's correlation, finding a highly significant relationship between the indicators of Dissatisfaction with Body Image and Social Anxiety in students, as well as the relationship between cognitive-emotional dissatisfaction component and fear or anxiety dimensions before certain situations and avoidance before social situations, likewise in perceptive dissatisfaction component, behavioral dissatisfaction and avoidance dimension before social situations.
