Objective: To determine whether the serum creatinine elevation, prolonged prothrombin time, total bilirubin elevation, anemia and hypoalbuminemia are predictors of mortality in pregnant women with HELLP syndrome of the Regional Hospital of Cajamarca Material and Methods: An analytical, observational, sectional, transversal was carried out. The study population consisted of 110 pregnant women with HELLP syndrome; according to established inclusion and exclusion criteria distributed in two groups: 22 deceased and 88 survivors. Results: No significant differences were observed regarding the variables of maternal age (p=0.078) and degree of parity (p=0.086) among pregnant women with HELLP syndrome deceased and survivors. With respect to the variables prolonged prothrombin time (OR = 3.3, p=0.032); high creatinine (OR = 2.5, p=0.045); high total bilirubin (OR = 2.7, p=0.032); anemia (OR = 2.3, p=0.023); hypoalbuminemia (OR = 2.6, p=0.016); a significant difference was found in all of them. Conclusions: Serum creatinine elevation, prolonged prothrombin time, total bilirubin elevation, anemia and hypoalbuminemia are predictors of mortality in pregnant women with HELLP syndrome at the Regional Hospital of Cajamarca.
