Objective: Determine the effectiveness of intratimpanic corticosteroid therapy for the treatment of sudden hearing loss in patients of the Clínica Suárez in the period of January 2013 - December 2017. Material and Methods: An analytical, observational, of one cohort before and after. The study population consisted of 30 patients with sudden hearing loss. Results: The mean variation between the audiometry before the treatment, the first audiometry and the second audiometry is highly significant since the application of the treatment. The effectiveness of intratimpanic corticotherapy in the first audiometry control in patients with sudden hearing loss was partial in 83% of the patients and total in 7% of the patients. The effectiveness of intratimpanic corticosteroid therapy in the second audiometry control in patients with sudden hearing loss was partial in 10% of patients and total in 80% of patients. The average variation in decibels from the application of the treatment to the second control was significantly greater than the variation until the first audiometry. The frequency of adverse effects in patients exposed to intratimpanic corticotherapy for sudden hearing loss was: pain (20%); vertigo (13%). Conclusions: Intratimpanic corticosteroid therapy is effective for the treatment of sudden hearing loss in patients of the Clínica Suárez in the period of January 2013 - December 2017.
