Objetive: To determine if Ivermectin in 1% cream is more effective, compared with 0.75% metronidazole cream in the treatment of papulopustular rosacea. Methods: An analytical, observational, retrospective cohort study design was carried out. The study population was constituted by 126 patients who had undergone regular consultation during the treatment in the external dermatology clinic of the Hospital de Especialidades Básicas La Noria, during the period of time October 2017 - February 2018 and who have fulfilled the selection criteria. Results: In the group of patients in whom Ivermectin 1% cream was used as therapy, clinical improvement was obtained in 85.7%, in comparison with the group of patients in whom metronidazole 0.75% cream was used in which the Clinical improvement reached 68.3%. When performing the corresponding statistical analysis, an RR of 1.26 was found (95% CI RR 1.03 - 1.53). Conclusions: Ivermectin cream at 1% is more effective than metronidazole cream at 0.75% in the treatment of patients with papulopustular rosacea, treated at the external dermatology clinic of the Hospital de Especialidades Básicas La Noria.
