The present investigation documents a study of the influence of the number of erbium doped fiber Amplifiers on the separation signal to noise and the bit error rate in an optical link WDM, through a simulation tool. In this simulation were used typical parameters of EDFAs and fiber optic Amplifiers. The obtained results show a critical degradation of OSNR when there is a separation of 90 km between amplifiers, independent of the number of amplifiers used. Similarly a degradation of BER was obtained in the threshold limits to 40 km of distance that is slightly accentuated between the third and fourth amplifier. The results and conclusions of the parameters are presented through the resulting diagrams simulation such as eye pattern and statistical tables with comparison curves at the end of the document.
