The objective of this present prospective, longitudinal, descriptive and observational study was the microbiological contamination generated by bioaerosols in the environment of the Odonto-Stomatological Department of the specialt ies basic Hospital “Noria de Trujillo” – 2017. For this study, we took samples in Petri dishes from the bioaerosols that were found in the environment before starting their work and during dental procedures were made by hand piece to high speed and dental ultrasound; whole procedures were made by dentists who working in this institution. During the procedures a plate was placed in the front of the operator, opened by a headband and the second in the chest of the patient, the exposure time was 10 minutes. The method of obtaining the sample was by gravity or natural impact, then incubated at 37 ° C in the oxygen atmosphere for 24 hours, then proceeded to the registration of CFU and the identification of each colony by its microscopic characteristics, staining of Gram and identification tests. According to the data obtained, it can be said that the increase in microbiological contamination generated by bioaerosols during dental procedures was 8 times higher than at the beginning; and the level of contamination according to the IMA scale for the plates exposed at the head of the dental chair, was bad, while the level of contamination for the plates located in the tray of the instruments was regular, these results were obtained before starting any procedure; In addition, the level of contamination for the plates exposed during the dental procedures when we used the dental ultrasound and handpiece in a high-speed both for the plates exposed in the chest and forehead were very bad. With respect to the identification of microorganisms, were found: Gram (+) such as Streptococcus spp (G. Viridans), Staphylococcus spp (negative coagulase), Micrococus spp, Lactobacillus spp, Corynebacterium spp; and the Gram (-) as Moraxella and Klebsiella.
