The present study aimed to determine the prevalence of normal variants of oral mucosa in 18 years old patient and over, in Luis Albrecht Hospital and Regional Hospital of Trujillo in 2018. The study was cross-sectional, descriptive and observational, including a total of 259 patients between 18 years old and over, who met with the inclusion and exclusion criteria; and who underwent oral examination, gather the data in a data collection file proposed for our study. It was found that the prevalence of normal variants of oral mucosa was 97.7% in total population, the most prevalent normal variant was morsicatio buccarum in 23.94% of the population, being more prevalent from 36 to 64 years old and in male gender. We conclude that normal variants of oral mucosa is of 97.7%, with a greater presence in the morsicatio buccarum, being more prevalent between age ranges from 36 to 64 years old and in the male gender.
