Objective: Evaluate if exist effect in vitro of the essential oil of Minthostachys mollis “muña“ plus fluconazole on Candida albicans. Methods: An experimental study was carried out, which was carried out in the laboratory of Pharmacology of the National University of Trujillo and the Microbiology laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of Trujillo. The essential oil Minthostachys mollis (muña) was prepared in 4 concentrations of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. The Kirby Bauer method (disc diffusion) was used to evaluate the antimycotic sensitivity and the antimycotic effect and the inhibitory concentration by determining the concentration of Colony Forming Units (CFU). The Candida albicans strain was exposed to the 4 concentrations of peppermint essential oil, there were also two control groups for Fluconazole and one with Candida albicans oil without any treatment. Ten replicates were performed for each case. Results: It was determined that there is a statistically significant difference between the antifungal synergistic effect of the different concentrations of the essential oil of Minthostachys mollis plus fluconazole on the growth of Candida albicans (p <0.001), by means of the inhibition halos according to the Duraffourd scale. The inhibitory concentration was present in all concentrations except control (fluconazole), in which a growth of 4.5 x 103 was obtained. Conclusions: The essential oil of Minthostachys mollis “muña“ plus fluconazole if it has an in vitro synergistic effect against Candida albicans
