OBJECTIVE: To determine the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and diagnostic accuracy of the FullPIERS scale in predicting the HELLP syndrome. MATERIALS AND METHOD: A diagnostic test study was conducted, which included 158 patients diagnosed with severe preeclampsia treated at the Regional Hospital of Cajamarca during the year 2017 who met the selection criteria. These patients were divided into two groups according to the presence or absence of HELLP syndrome and then the FullPIERS scale was applied to determine who had low (<30%) and high risk (> or equal to 30%) according to the probability obtained through this scale. RESULTS: Of the total of patients, 37 (23.4%) experienced the HELLP syndrome. It was found that 130 patients belonged to the low risk group and only 14 (10.77%) developed the HELLP syndrome. Similarly, 28 patients had a high risk of which 23 (82.14%) had HELLP syndrome; with a meaning of 0.0005. Regarding the diagnostic values, it was evidenced that the FullPIERS scale has a sensitivity of 62.16% (95% CI, [41,18-79,14]), a specificity of 95.87% (95% CI, [91,9-99, 83]), the positive predictive value (PPV) was 82.14% (95% CI, [66,17- 98,1]) and the negative predictive value (NPV) of 89, 23% (95% CI, [683, 52- 94.94]). On the other hand, it was found that the FullPIERS scale has a diagnostic precision of 81.3% in the prediction of the HELLP syndrome. COCLUSIONS: The FullPIERS scale had good results in the prediction of the HELLP syndrome by identifying high-risk patients, with an accuracy of 81.3%.
