OBJECTIVE: To determine the epidemiology, clinical characteristics, laboratory and comorbidities associated with systemic lupus erythematosus in Hospital santa Rosa II-2 Piura 2015-2017. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Descriptive, Observational, transversal and retrospective study. The population studied was the patients with a diagnosis of systemic lupus erythematosus between 15 and 60 years of age treated in the hospital II Santa Rosa Piura during the years 2015 - 2017. Information from the medical records was recorded through a data collection card. The results were analyzed using the statistical package SPSS 20. RESULTS Of 122 patients with SLE, 89.3% were female with a female / male ratio of 8.4 to 1. The most frequent age group was 20 to 39 years (72.1%). In this study, 96.7% of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) presented clinical manifestations. The most frequent were: synovitis in 66.4% of patients, followed by malar exanthema with 31.1% and pleuritis with 24.6%. 30.3% of patients presented renal alterations and the most frequent renal alteration was proteinuria> 0.5 g in 27%. 85.2% of patients showed hematological and the most frequent alterations were anemia in 68.9%, 41.8% lymphopenia and leukopenia 30.3%. 82.8% of patients presented immunological alterations. The most frequent were ANA (+) in 68%, positivity of Anti DNA in 34.3% and low levels of complement in 29.5%. The most frequent comorbidities were urinary tract infection in 36.1% of patients with SLE and respiratory tract infections in 20.5%. CONCLUSIONS Systemic lupus erythematosus is more frequent in females and ages 20 to 39 years. The most frequent clinical manifestations were synovitis, malar exanthema and pleuritis. The most frequent renal alteration was proteinuria. The most frequent hematological alterations were anemia, lymphopenia and leukopenia. The most frequent immunological alterations were ANA (+), Anti DNA (+) and low levels of complement. The most frequent comorbidity was urinary tract infection.
