Objective: To determine if dyslipidemia is a factor associated with psoriasis in patients of Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital during the period 2015 - 2017. Material and Methods: An analytical, observational, transversal sectional retrospective study was carried out. The study population consisted of 142 patients according to established inclusion and exclusion criteria divided into two groups: with or without psoriasis, the prevalence ratio and the chi square test were calculated. Results: The frequency of diabetes mellitus and obesity was significantly higher in the group of patients with psoriasis than in the group without psoriasis. The proportion of dyslipidemia in patients with psoriasis was 30/32 = 94%. The proportion of dyslipidemia in patients without psoriasis was 91/110 = 82%. Dyslipidemia is a factor associated with psoriasis with a prevalence ratio of 2.31, which was significant (p <0.05). The group with psoriasis has a significantly higher average of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and triglycerides; and lower for HDL cholesterol; than the group without psoriasis. In the multivariate analysis, the variables dyslipidemia, diabetes mellitus and obesity are recognized as factors associated with psoriasis. Conclusions: Dyslipidemia is a factor associated with psoriasis in patients of the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital during the period 2015 - 2017.
