The present research work is focused on designing an auto-tuning system for first order electrical systems of type R-C, in a platform based on PIC microcontrollers. In the first chapter of the present work, the problem that causes that there is not much bibliography on the subject of implementation of methods of tuning of PID controllers in digital platforms like PIC microcontrollers is addressed. In the second chapter, it presents the theoretical framework and a valid support of the feasibility of being able to implement a method for the tuning of PID controllers for first order electrical systems, within a platform based on PIC microcontrollers. In the Third Chapter, we proceed with the study of possible techniques and methods of implementation for the tuning of PID controllers for first order electrical systems, within a platform based on PIC microcontrollers In Chapter Four, we show the results of the implementation of the relay method as a method for the tuning of controllers. PID for first order electrical systems of type R-C and the corresponding simulations that validate our hypothesis. And in the last two chapters we show a brief discussion of our results and the conclusions we reached.
