A comparative descriptive study was conducted with the aim of determining what is the degree of relationship between the styles of learning and academic performance of the students of I and II cycle of the career of education initial of the Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego de Trujillo City in 2013. The population consists of 87 students, of which 47 are studying the I cycle and 40 II cycle. The inventory of learning styles of David Kolb, which measures the preference for a certain learning style was used as an instrument for data collection: usher style, co-opting style, style divergent and convergent style. Likewise applied the questionnaire of HONEY and ALONSO style of learning ACTIVOCHAEA, to be used for the data analysis Chi-square statistical test, finding that there is a significant relationship between the styles of learning and academic performance of the students I and II pro career cycle of the career professional of education initial of the University private Antenor Orrego of the city of Truji llo.
