Objective: To determine the prevalence and evaluate whether age, sex, working time, area of work, position, history of hearing diseases, hours of exposure to noise / day, use of protection, smoking, consumption Of alcohol, diabetes mellitus type 2, hypertension and hypercholesterolemia are factors associated with noise induced hearing loss in Yanacocha - Cajamarca workers served at the Occupational Clinic during the period from December 2015 to April 2016. Methods: An observational, cross-sectional analytic study that examined occupational histories of 200 workers, distributing the population in 29 workers with NIHL and 171 workers without NIHL. Results: The prevalence of NIHL in this study was 14.5%, mean age in the NIHL groups was 44.48 ± 13.99 and in the group without NIHL 31.91 ± 8.84 years (p < 0.001); the proportion of males in the groups with and without NIHL were 96.55% and 89.47%. In the univariate analysis, the factors associated with noise - induced hearing loss in Yanacocha - Cajamarca workers were age, current smoking, alcohol consumption, type 2 DM, HT and number of Hours exposed to noise and multivariate analysis through logistic regression design a predictive model for noise-induced hearing loss in mining workers which was shaped by age, number of hours exposed to noise and consumption of alcohol. Conclusions: This study demonstrates that the factors associated with NIHL in mining workers were age, number of hours exposed to noise and alcohol consumption after adjusting the confounding variables.
