To determine the factors associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia in patients treated at the department of urology at Santa Rosa Hospital Piura during the period January 2013 - December 2014. Methodology: The population Patients were treated at the hospital II 2 Santa Rosa - Piura, diagnosed with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia in the period January 2013 - December 2014 meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. A study of cases with a sample size of 50 patients was reported. The design was a descriptive,lengthwise, retrospective, cross-sectional study. Conclusions: Among the risk factors we age, medical history, irritative and obstructive symptoms. The highest frequency of BPH was 66% which corresponds to the age group is between 60-79 years of age, in the group. Marital status was not statistically significant, as pathological history have 60% obesity and hypertension with 20%. Most of the population with BPH is aged between 60-79 years old. Most of the men who participated in the study had no family history. The PSA was not in this significant study because 50% of patients with BPH, it was negative and yet had BPH.
