This research work aims to provide security and protection to the dwellings located along the right and left bank of the Tingo River, in front of the increasingly frequent avenues of the river. The houses and recreational centers have a parallel route to the Tingo River, which are exposed to the increase of the river flow in times of rain, due to this the infrastructure would collapse, resulting in large losses in economic activity , property and large risks of loss of human lives. Using the Hydrographic Unit Method (SCS), HEC-HMS Software was used to determine the flows produced by the maximum rainfall in the study basin and by means of HEC RAS hydraulic simulation software, it was possible to determine parameters for the design of riparian defenses such as retaining walls and gabions with the purpose of protecting the flood zones of the annex of Vijus - Pataz, in addition it was determined the possible maximum avenues, for different periods of return. It was identified that there are critical zones in the progressive 0 + 240; 0 + 440; 0 + 500; 0 + 600; 0 + 720 and 0 + 840, we proceed to determine the need for a retaining wall of reinforced concrete or gabions, in addition there are areas where both structures are projected, this is because they are areas in which the two margins are vulnerable and require such structures.
