To determine wich features of patients diagnosed with early neonatal sepsis whose mother was the diagnosis of urinary tract infection in the Hospital Support II-2 Sullana in the period January to December 2014. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A descriptive cross-sectional study, retrospective cohort study that evaluated 54 patients diagnosed with early neonatal sepsis who have a condition that the mother has the diagnosis of urinary tract infection at birth in the study period comprised between January to December 2014. RESULTS: It was found a higher incidence of early neonatal sepsis associated with maternal urinary tract infection in male infants, with 55.6% of the study population; predominated maternal age between 18 and 35 years with 68.5%; the most common gestational age was 37 to 41 weeks with 68.5%; a higher incidence of early neonatal sepsis associated with maternal urinary tract infection in infants weight between 2,500 and 4,000 grams with 64.8%; predominated vaginal birth in 51.9%; it was found an incidence of 50% for multiparous pregnant; 57.4% of pregnant women didn’t make the six antenatal necessary to consider pregnancy as controlled; prolonged premature rupture of membranes occurred in 25.9%, history of abortion in 13% and amniotic fluid meconium in 37%; Coagulase Negative Staphylococcus was found in 40.7%; 24.1% of those infected with Staphylococcus coagulase negative infants were male. CONCLUSIONS: Properly determined the characteristics of infants diagnosed with early neonatal sepsis associated with maternal urinary tract infection for the people who attended the Hospital Support II-2 Sullana in the period January to December 2014.
