To determine the association between nutritional status and blood pressure levels in adolescents treated at the Polyclinic EsSalud El Porvenir, 2015. Methods and material: The association between nutritional status and blood pressure levels were studied in 217 adolescents of both sexes aged 10 years and under 18 years in outpatient Polyclinic EsSalud El Porvenir - La Libertad. For the present study design, observational, analytical and crosssectional was used. Results: 41.9% of the population were male while 58.1% were female. 32.3% were aged between 13 and 14 years, 31.8% between 11 and 12 years, 24.9% between 15 and 16 years and 11.1% between 17 and 18 years. The average body mass index was 22.3 ± 3.3 and SD. Mean SBP was 117.6 mmHg ± 5.1 mmHg and DBP average of 74.2 ± 4.8 mmHg. 12.9% were obese, 27.6% 59.5% overweight and normal weight. Of adolescents treated 5.1% had hypertension, 32.7% pre-hypertension, 62.2% normotensive and none had hypotension. The percentage of hypertensive adolescents with obesity was 63.6%, 36.4% overweight and normal weight 0.0%. The percentage of pre-hypertensive obese adolescents was 28.2%, 64.8% overweight and normal weight 7.0%. The percentage of normotensive adolescents with obesity was 0.7%, 7.4% overweight and normal weight was 91.9%. The results show that if there is enough statistical evidence to say that there is an association between the variables under study (X² = 169.15 and p <0.05) Conclusions: If there is an association between nutritional status and blood pressure levels in adolescents.
