Determine if hypoalbuminemia is a predictive factor related to intrahospitalary mortality in cirrhotic patients at Cajamarca II EsSalud Hospital. Methods: Was conduced a analitic, observational, retrospective, cases and controls investigation. The study population was conformed for 105 cirrhotic patients inclusion and exclusion criteries distributed in 2 groups: with or mortality. Results: The frequency of hypoalbuminemia between with and without mortality were 66% y 47% respectively. Hypoalbuminemia odds ratio related mortality was 2.14 (p<0.05). The averages of serum albumin in the group with and without mortality were 2.4 and 3.2 respectively (p<0.05). Conclusions: Hypoalbuminemia is a predictive factor related to intrahospitalary mortality in cirrhotic patients at Cajamarca II EsSalud Hospital. The average of serum albumin in cirrhotics with mortality is significatively minor than in cirrhotics survivors.
