In order to determine the association between the type of blood pressure control in acute intracerebral hemorrhage and the degree of functional dependence in adult patients treated at Hospital Belén de Trujillo, we have done an observational, analytical, correlational and longitudinal study, in 53 adult patients with acute spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage confirmed by neuroimaging study whose were treated from 1 st july 2002 to 30 th june 2012. The 54,7% were women and the most prevalent risk factor was hypertension (84,9%). All patients were functionally independent before the onset of intracerebral hemorrhage that led to their hospitalization. Mild control of blood pressure was the most common (37,7%). The functional dependence was declining over time of study. The components of the intracerebral hemorrhage score associated with the functional dependence degree were the lowest income Glasgow score and the hemorrhage volume equal or greater than 30 ml. No association between the type of blood pressure control in acute intracerebral hemorrhage and the degree of functional dependence in adult patients was found.
